As part of the of the CleanBC mission to make electric vehicles (EVs) more affordable to individuals within the province, rebates to help offset the cost of installing a Level 2 charging station at your home or condo building have been made available in BC. BC Hydro’s EV Charger Rebate Program provides rebates to both single homes and apartment or condo buildings in BC.
The residential EV Rebates in BC are available to both single homes and condo buildings:
Single Homes
Single homes, which include single-family and row homes as well as duplexes and townhouses, are eligible for a rebate of up to 50% of the total purchase and installation cost of Level 2 chargers up to $350. For a limited time only, BC Hydro is also advertising funding of up to $250 for single family homes looking to install JuiceBox Smart EV Chargers and a rewards program for EV charging where you can earn $35 when you alter your charging times during winter.
Apartment and Condo Buildings
There are two provincial rebate options available for apartment and condo buildings:
EV Ready Rebates
Standalone EV Charger Rebates
This rebate offers up to $2,000 towards the purchase and installation of each individual Level 2 charger in residential parking spots, to a maximum of $14,000.
